Pre - treatment Advice

A GENTLE REMINDER OF WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT BEFORE YOUR PERMANENT MAKE UP APPOINTMENT


  • DO NOT consume alcohol 24 hours prior to the treatment
  •  Please avoiding wearing any make up or creams on the day of your procedure
  • Do not drink coffee, alcohol or energizing drinks on the day of treatment.
  • To minimize bleeding and ensure the best pigment retention, please avoid taking aspirin or any blood-thinning medications or supplements for at least 48 hours before your appointment, unless prescribed by a doctor.
  • Do not take  Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours before treatment.
  • Retinol (Vitamin A) can significantly affect the skin’s sensitivity and healing, therefore discontinue use of any skincare products containing these ingredients for at least 7 days before and 7 days after your procedure. 
  • DO NOT do not anything to your eyebrows like shaping or waxing before the procedure. Your artist will take care of it during your appointment. 
  • You should not use Botox, AHA products and retinoids 2 weeks before your procedure if you have your eyebrows done. 
  • You need to wait about 4 weeks of a lip filler procedure in order to have a semi permanent lip blush treatment 
  • A PMU treatment can help performed about a week after a skin booster procedure, if the skin is completely healed.  
  • Exfoliating treatments such as microdermabrasion should not be performed within 2 weeks prior to procedure
  • Chemical and laser peels should be avoided no less than 3 weeks prior to procedure
  • Patients prone to cold sores/fever blisters should take an anti-viral prior to treatment
  • Do not tan or have intense sun exposure 3 days before treatment.
  • Hormone therapies can affect pigmentation and/or cause sensitivity 
  • It is recommended  on the night before your appointment to wash your hair take a shower as you have to be more careful not to wet your brows for a few days. 



 Are there any certain pre-existing conditions that must be considered before having semi permanent make up procedure?

  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding 
  • Diabetic 
  • Serious diseases such as cancer, epilepsy, autoimmune disorders (doctor’s note is required)
  • Circulatory disorders (doctor’s note is required)
  • Any bleeding disorders (doctor’s note is required)
  • You’re taking blood thinning medication
  • Currently on strong retinoids (must wait until 6 months after treatment ends)
  • If any skin diseases symptoms or irritation appears on the area.
  • You’ve recently had Botox or Disport treatment (must wait 2 months)
  • Previous PMU. If you eyebrows have been tattooed/microbladed, they must have significantly faded for us to be able to perform the Phi Brows treatment successfully. )                    
  • You have a broken capillary in the eyebrows area
  • If you have a sunburn.
